The signs of new construction are evident throughout Heber Valley, reflecting the area's flourishing economy. Not only along the main streets of Heber City and Midway are new businesses appearing regularly, but in the quiet neighborhoods of these communities development is providing housing for the Valley's new residents.
Several national and regional chains have opened franchises in Heber City including a 75-room Holiday Inn Express, Smith's grocery store, and numerous pizza and fast food chains. Smaller businesses are also capitalizing on the valley's popularity. Several new restaurants in Heber City and Midway offer a variety of cuisine, a fly fishing shop provides good tips and tackle for the area's blue ribbon fishing, and specialty shops are springing up offering everything from scrap booking supplies to antiques. Even well-established businesses in the valley are finding the opportunity to expand, including the Homestead Resort in Midway, Day's Market, and the locally owned and operated Dairy Keen. An industrial park near the airport furnishes space for commercial businesses to establish and capitalize on the local employee base.
Numerous residential developments offer attractive homes on a few acres in the quiet, rural areas of the valley and developments near town offer affordable lots and homes for families just getting started.
