HEBER CITY - The chairman of the Governor's Office of Economic Development board and a regional economist for the Department of Workforce Services have accepted an invitation to be the keynote speakers for the upcoming "what's IN OUT back!" Economic Summit and Golf Tournament. The combination economic summit and golf tournament is scheduled for Sept. 10 at Soldier Hollow, Midway.

The opening keynote speaker is Ragula Bhaskar, president and chief executive of FatPipe Networks. FatPipe was ranked as the 189th fastest growing private company in the United States in 2004 by Inc. 500. He co-founded the company with his wife and chief technical officer, Sanchaita Datta. FatPipe specializes in providing high-speed internet and wider area networks to businesses and governments.

Bhaskar, who joined the Governer's Office of Economic Development board in April, was named as the new board chairman last June. Bhaskar has a Ph.D. in engineering from Pennsylvania State University. His academic career includes work as a research technologist in the engineering department at Pennsylvania State and as a tenured professor of mining engineering at the University of Utah.

The concluding keynote speaker is James A. Robson, regional economist for the Department of Workforce Services (DWS). His area of responsibility includes Wasatch, Summit, Tooele, and Salt Lake counties.

Robson started his career with the Utah Department of Employment Security, now known as DWS. At that time he was a labor economist/statistician administering the Current Employment Statistics survey. Before returning to DWS, Robson worked ten years with the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget analyzing Utah economic and demographic issues. He spent another ten years at Utah Foundation doing research on Utah public policy issues.

Robson has worked for and participated with the Governor's Council of Economic Advisors, the Utah Population Estimates Committee, and is a member and past president of the Wasatch Front Economic Forum (the local chapter of the National Association of Business Economics). He is a graduate of the University of Utah.

Wasatch Economic Development Director Paul Kennard said "what's IN OUT back!" is a four hour program tracking current local trends, topics and issues. Besides the two keynote speakers there will be Fast Track presentations by 13 local businesses, a Quality of Life presentation and information on the 2020 Vision initiative. After lunch, those attendees who chose to tee-up will participate in a classic, four-man scramble golf tournament. "Wasatch Economic Development has teamed up with the Heber Valley Chamber of Commerce/Convention & Visitors Bureau to host this all-day event. We think it will be both informative and entertaining," Kennard said.

Title sponsor for the event is JB Gordon Construction, Inc. Supporting sponsors are Redmond Incorporated, Zions Bank, Century 21, The Sorenson Group and Zermatt Resort. For additional information please call Paul Kennard at 435-654-3666 or download the brochure at www.hebervalleycc.org/economicdevelopment. Registration deadline is September 5, 2007 and limited seating is available so send your registration in early.

All proceeds generated by this event will benefit the new Wasatch County Recreation Center.
