Heber Valley is located approximately 40 miles from Salt Lake City via Interstate 80 and US Hwy 40, and 24 miles from Provo via US Hwy 189. US Hwy 189 connects with Interstate 15 near Provo for north-south transportation. Interstate 80 is the major east-west route and connects with other national highways. US Hwy 40 travels through downtown Heber and provides the principal line of transportation to eastern Utah, continuing east through the U.S. Most major east-west motor freight services utilize this route from Denver to the west coast. Area ground freight services include Park City Truck Lines based in Heber City, Roadway, CF, UW, and other national trucking lines based in nearby Salt Lake City. Air freight services include UPS, FedEx, Emery, and others out of Salt Lake City. Tourist agencies and private companies offer group shuttle services.
Salt Lake International Airport, 55 miles from Heber City, is served by 15 airlines with nearly 500 arrivals and departures daily. Heber Valley Airport, located just two miles from the center of Heber City, providing services for small single and multi-engine planes with minimal use by large multi-engine aircraft or helicopters. Emergency transportation is provided at the Heber Valley Airport by Rocky Mountain Helicopters of Provo and Air Med based at the University Hospital in Salt Lake City. Heber Valley has no freight rail service, but is within 50 miles of piggyback rail service in Salt Lake City.
