  Utah Camping in Heber Valley

Camping around Heber Valley is a unique experience.

There is practically unlimited camping in the Heber Valley area. Numerous developed Utah campgrounds offer everything from rustic to modern camping. Undeveloped camping is also available virtually anywhere on the National Forest, and many people car-camp along the hundreds of miles of dirt roads that access the backcountry.

For maps and information, stop at one of the area visitor centers:
U.S. Forest Service Heber Ranger District Office on Hwy 40, just east of Heber City, 435-654-0470.
Heber Valley Visitor Center on 475 North Main Street in Heber 435-654-3666.
Wasatch Mountain State Park Visitor Center in Midway 801-654-1791.
Jordanelle State Park Hailstone Visitor Center on Hwy 40, just north of Heber City, 801-649-9540.
Jordanelle State Park Rock Cliff Nature Center on State Road 32, northeast of Heber City, 801-783-3030.
U.S. Forest Service Strawberry Visitor Center on Hwy 40, miles southeast of Heber City, 801-548-2321.

For a more primitive camping experience, miles of dirt roads access numerous backcountry areas open to undeveloped camping. Contact the Heber Ranger District Office on Hwy 40 just east of Heber City at 435-654-0470 for more information on these campgrounds and other camping opportunities on the National Forest.
