Adjacent to Currant Creek Campground this delightful little loop trail is perfect for the entire family. Just over one mile in length, signs along the trail explain the natural habitat of the area. Expect some elevation gain on this hike, making difficulty moderate. Benches are provided along the trail to catch your breath and enjoy the scenery. From the highest point, scenic views of Currant Creek Reservoir below and red sandstone cliffs to the east are thoroughly rewarding. The trailhead can be accessed from the lower loop of Currant Creek campground. To reach Currant Creek, follow US Hwy 40 southeast of Heber City 40 miles to the Currant Creek turnoff. Follow this gravel road another 17 miles around Currant Creek Reservoir to the campground. The trailhead is located in Loop D of the campground, where parking and restrooms are available.

Strawberry Valley offers a variety of hiking trails through conifer and aspen forest or along the reservoir shoreline. Cool summer temperatures in this high mountain valley make for some delightful hikes. For detailed maps and recreation information stop in at the Strawberry Visitor Center, located just off US Hwy 40, 23 miles southeast of Heber City (435-548-2321). At the Visitor Center a short, boardwalk nature trail follows the Strawberry River and offers excellent opportunities to view fish and wildlife.
