Badgers are curious animals, and very protective of their territory. They have been seen confronting trucks that came to close to their dens. They can be very tenacious fighters in defense of home and family. This photo taken by Tim Clark.

Deer are not as plentiful as they were 15 years ago, but the populations are slowly recovering. If you are quiet when hiking in the forests surrounding Heber Valley, you can see many deer. You have to be careful sometimes not to step on the fawns hidden by their mothers.

Photo taken by Tim Clark of the U.S. Forest Service. Catching a hummingbird nesting takes an eye that is attuned to natures many wonders, and requires our slowing down to see what is around us. Tim has many such award winning photos to his credit.

These photos of kokanee salmon were taken by Tim Clark in the tributaries of Strawberry Reservoir. It is an amazing experience to see these bright pink fish swimming up stream. Much information can be obtained at the Strawberry Visitor.

This photo was taken by Steve Gale on the Duchesne Ridge, East of Heber. On this ridge top, many sightings of eagles, hawks, owls, deer, elk, moose, and an occasional bear are seen. It is a very scenic drive and well worth the rough road between the head of Mill Hollow and Wolf Creek campground.

This Osprey has a newly caught fish, taken from the Strawberry area. This photo was taken by Tim Clark.
